Abstract

Written in Malay, the article discusses the background history of the Hikayat Siak, which is a version of the Sejarah Melayu written from the point of view of the Kingdom of Siak,  and attempts to uncover why the former is also known as Raja-raja Melayu or Sejarah Melayu or Hikayat Raja Akil.
