Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is a comparative analysis of a group of Quranic surahs (40-46) known as “hawÄmimâ€. The study explores the textual cohesion of these surahs. To this end, the study applied the methods of “ilm munÄsabah†to analyse the relationships between the selected verses. Tools pertaining to the maqasid method have been also used resulting in significant textual and semantic relationships among the hawÄmim group of verses. Cohesion was also recorded between the content of the verse and that of its close neighbouring verses. This cohesion is evidence that the hawÄmim group of verses has textual features that unique in the holy Quran.
