Main Article Content
Abstract
Revelation is not only a very important matter in Islam, but also the basis of the existence of Islam. It has been targeted by enemies of Islam to weaken both Islam and Muslims. Noldeke, is a big name in the orientalists. He, who is also known as the Chief of German Orientalists, has a high position and such great influence among the group. Hence, his views and opinions should be revised and analyzed. This study aims to revise his views and thoughts on the revelation, particularly through his great masterpiece, the Geschichte des Qorans. It will be evaluated and compared in terms of his views and other Muslim scholars. The findings of this study show that Noldeke was portrayed as a man who is diligent in his work and persistent in his study. However, he has not only failed to understand the revelation in Islam, but also deviated from the truth, alike many other orientalists.
