Within the historical background of Hinduism, the worship of Murugan holds a distinctive place in Tamil religious tradition. This study highlights the nature of the Thirumurai literature that emerged under the influence of the Murugan bhakti movement, along with the social and spiritual contexts that shaped their formation. It also points to the efforts of Thanikaimani Va. Su. Chengalvaraya Pillai, who compiled the Murugavel Panniru Thirumurai by bringing together the hymns of Arunagirinathar and the devotional poems on Murugan composed by ancient poets. In particular, the circumstances surrounding the creation of the twelfth Thirumurai, Seyththondar Puranam, the contributions of Thenur Varakavi Chockalinganar, and the structure, purpose, and devotional expressions found in both Seyth Thondar Thogai and Seyththondar Puranam are examined here. The study further clarifies the historical and literary significance of these two works within the Murugan bhakti tradition and reveals how the legacy of service by Murugan devotees has been preserved in Tamil spiritual literature. The primary objective of this research is to compile and present information related to Seyth Thondar Thogai and Seyththondar Puranam, the two works that constitute the twelfth book of the Murugavel Panniru Thirumurai.
