History

The Malaysian Online Journal of Educational Management (MOJEM) was established by the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya, as a peer-reviewed online academic journal dedicated to advancing research in educational management, leadership, and policy. Published by the University of Malaya under the electronic ISSN 2289-4489, MOJEM was created to address the growing demand for a credible scholarly outlet that supports rigorous empirical, theoretical, and policy-oriented research in education. From its early years, the journal emphasised methodological quality, academic integrity, and relevance to both local and international educational contexts, reflecting the research mission and academic standards of the University of Malaya.

Since its establishment, MOJEM has undergone steady development and consolidation as an internationally oriented journal. The journal has been indexed in Scopus, with coverage from 2017 to 2025, marking an important milestone in its recognition within the global academic publishing landscape. During this period, MOJEM has strengthened its editorial governance, peer review system, publication ethics, and transparency in line with international indexing requirements. Published on a quarterly basis, MOJEM continues to evolve in response to emerging trends in educational leadership, policy reform, and digital transformation, while maintaining its institutional identity as a scholarly journal under the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya.
